LAGOS POLICE UNCOVER SHALLOW GRAVE, EXHUME BODY OF SLAIN LASU GRADUATE ADEDAMOLA OGUNBODE

In a shocking turn of events, the Lagos State Police Command has exhumed the body of 28-year-old Lagos State University (LASU) graduate, Adedamola Ogunbode, from a shallow grave by the fence of the university. The grim discovery was made on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, following the confession of the prime suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo.

Ajisomo, who was apprehended in the Alakuko area of the state, confessed to killing Ogunbode and led the police to the location where the body was buried. The suspect revealed that he was not buried in the Church premises of CCC Ileri Oluwa parish, as earlier speculated, but by the fence of the Lagos State University.

The investigation into Ogunbode's disappearance began on January 16, 2025, when his family reported him missing. The case took a new turn when the new Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olohundare Jimoh, assumed duty on February 18, 2025, and ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department to investigate the case.

The police have arrested several suspects in connection with Ogunbode's murder, including Olaoluwa Ajisomo, Pastor Whepetoji Sunday, Sheriff Adebayo, a church member, and Omolara Ajisomo, Olaoluwa's mother, who was accused of aiding the escape of suspects. Teniola Ajisomo, Olaoluwa's brother, is still on the run.

According to the Police Spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspects cleared significant amounts of money from Ogunbode's bank account after his disappearance. The amounts include:

- Olaoluwa Ajisomo: ₦300,000

- Pastor Whepetoji Sunday: ₦70,000

- Sheriff Adebayo: ₦300,000

- Omolara Ajisomo: (aiding escape of suspects)

- Teniola Ajisomo: ₦300,000 (still on the run)

The police have commiserated with the family of the deceased and thanked the Lagos State Government for its immense support in the investigation. The suspects will be prosecuted to ensure that justice is served.

In a related development, the police have sealed the CCC Ileri Oluwa parish, where Ogunbode was last seen, following intelligence reports that some individuals planned to burn it down out of vengeance.
