Honorable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Dapo Okubadejo, recently embarked on a tour of ongoing road construction projects in and around Ijebu Ode. The inspection, which took place on Saturday, March 8, 2025, aimed to assess the progress and quality of the construction works [1).
Accompanied by key stakeholders, including the Ijebu Ode Local Government Executive Chairman, Hon. Dare Alebiosu, and other dignitaries, the Commissioner's tour covered the Awokoya-Elebute road and the Ijebu-Ode stadium junction to Luba Comprehensive school-Erunwon junction road. The team engaged with contractors to identify challenges and proffer solutions to ensure timely completion of the projects.
Commissioner Okubadejo expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of the projects, praising the contractors' commitment to delivering the projects on time and within budget. He also appealed to residents to cooperate with the contractors and refrain from dumping refuse and waste in culverts and drains, which can cause erosion and damage the roads.
Furthermore, the Commissioner announced new road projects approved by the Ogun State Executive Council, including the Osinubi Street to New Road junction, Abeokuta road to Obalende, and Tam Balogun street to Conference hotel junction, GRA. These projects will complement the existing network of roads in Ijebu Ode, enhancing accessibility and ease of doing business.
